Things We are Loving At The Wyndham

Things We are Loving At The Wyndham.

There is a lot to see and do in the Forest of Dean, and you certainly will not be short of choice when filling out your itinerary for your time here. Of course, this can make it hard to narrow down your options. With so much to see and do, where do you start?

To help you out, here are some of the things we are currently loving at The Wyndham.

Our Current Favourite Forest of Dean Attractions, Events and Activities

  • Puzzlewood Puzzlewood is the ideal attraction for families, children and anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the Forest of Dean’s vast woodland. With a mile and a half of beautiful trail to explore, you will quickly see why the forest is said to be the inspiration for The Lord of the Rings. We especially love Puzzlewood in the spring, when it boasts wild garlic and bluebells, and the beauty of the forest shines. There are many sights and sounds along the way, and it is sure to keep everyone engaged as you get a bit of fresh air.

  • Forest Deli Picnic Experience – There is a lot of local produce to enjoy in the Forest of Dean, and the Forest Deli Picnic Experience is a unique way to sample some. If you are planning a picnic but do not want the hassle of making it yourself, hand the task over to those in the know. The Forest Deli Picnic Experience will whip you up a delicious picnic box full of homemade bakes, local treats, cheese and other tasty snacks. They will even throw in drinks – you can choose from soft drinks, and local beers, ciders and wine on request – cutlery, plates and napkins.

  • Golden Valley Vintage and Country Fair – There is always something happening in the Forest of Dean, and we are already looking forward to the Golden Valley Vintage and Country Fair. Held in June, this full day of entertainment has something for everyone. Hundreds of vehicles will be exhibited, including classic cars, engines and tractors. There will also be a falconry show, dog shows, farm animals, clay pigeon shooting, archery and a medieval re-enactment, as well as a range of country stalls selling local produce.

  • Colliers Cycling TrailThe Colliers Trail is a nine-mile cycling route around the Forest of Dean. It is completely off-road, making it an excellent choice for families and amateur cyclists. It is a great way to explore the forest on two wheels, and the entire route is signposted. Along the way, you will pass through many of the key sights of the forest, including Mallards Pike, the Sculpture Trail and Cannop Ponds.

When you stay at The Wyndham, you are basing yourself in the heart of the Forest of Dean, close to the action.
